High Expectations

Expectations for student learning are high for all students. We believe in equal opportunity for all. We reject both the muddle of mediocrity that comes from low expectations and the pressure of perfectionism. Grammar, Logic, & Rhetoric - The Trivium of Classical Education is embraced as our instructional philosophy. Students at ACE schools will be taught differently as they grow, and their brains mature. ACE schools embrace the basics of Reading, Writing, and Math for all students. These skills are the building blocks of any quality education. History and Science are taught at all grade levels. In Jr. High and High School, Socratic teaching is expected for these subjects.

Transparent Curriculum

Technology is introduced and used at an age-appropriate time. Small doses for small children in Primary School (PK-2) with more added in Elementary School (3-6) Jr. High and High School students use technology more (within limits), including instruction and discussion about the ethics and character of these tools. High school students can choose to emphasize Classical Humanities or STEM curriculum without excluding the other thread.
Transparent Curriculum is essential to the Parent-School partnership. Parents can access curricula for all grades and subjects. Spiral curriculum is used whenever possible so that learned skills and knowledge are reviewed and renewed. Scope and Sequence for major subjects is under development. We embrace the Cultural Literacy ideas of Dr. E.D. Hirsch.
Quality, highly trained teachers in each classroom are a hallmark of ACE schools. Each graduate of an ACE school should have the Knowledge, Skills, and Character to PURSUE their goals, THRIVE in their career, and FLOURISH in Life.

American

We believe in teaching honest truthful history, including American History, using primary source documents when possible.

Capstone

The purpose of a K-12 education is to partner with parents to graduate productive citizens, well-rounded adults, and contributing members of society.

ACE school graduates have the Knowledge, Skills, and Character to PURSUE goals, THRIVE in careers, and FLOURISH in Life.
